I am passionate about Causal Inference for Data Analysis.
Let me help you find actionable insights to improve your company’s bottom line!
My Story
I am an aspiring Data Scientist who not only has excelled at researching tree nut data to forecast their future production capacity but has used causal inference to find the real effect agriculture practices on Indian farmer's livelhood.
In 2021, I graduated from Thomas Aquinas College, a college in which students read no textbooks but rather only text straight from the orginal authors. It was here I fell in love with Mathematics from reading the works of Descartes, Leibiniz, and Newton.
After Graduating, I completed UC Davis’ Data Analytics Certificate program, which helped me gain valuable skills including (but not limited to) Excel, VBA, Python, HTML, and JavaScript. In the meantime I worked directly under the V.P. of Acquisitions and Strategy as an Assisatant Research Economist. In this role, I compiled data on agricultural commodities and created compelling visualizations to present before the board.
In June 2023, I successfully completed the Quantitative Economics Masters program at Cal Poly. During my time there, I honed my expertise as a practitioner of Econometrics for Causal Inference, leveraging my coding skills acquired from the certificate program to tackle complex problems. Notably, I collaborated with the IFC to evaluate the causal effect of good agricultural practices on Indian farmers' yield and cost. Given that our sample was not randomized, we employed an instrumental variable model to mitigate potential biases.
I currently reside with my wife, Emily, in San Luis Obispo, California.
Hobbies
I have a deep passion for the great outdoors. For the past 8 years, I have embarked on several fifty-mile backpacking adventures along the Pacific Crest Trail. In addition to backpacking, I am an avid scuba diver. Some of my favorite diving spots are the Channel Islands and Cozumel. When I'm not exploring the great outdoors, you can often find me engrossed in a book. My favorite writers are Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. I also water color paint.
Faith
My Catholic faith motivates me to pursue personal sanctity and uplift the lives of others. As such, when given a choice between God and my career I will always choose God. I follow the example of my Patron, Saint Thomas More, who, when given the choice between serving the King of England and remaining faithful to God even unto death, declared “I die the King’s good servant but God’s first.”
